Signs Your iPhone Battery Needs Replacement

All iPhone batteries degrade over time, meaning you will eventually need to replace the battery or buy a new phone. But how can you tell when your battery has reached the end of its life? There are a few simple indicators.

Most iPhone batteries are recommended to be replaced once they reach 80% battery health. Most iPhones reach 80% battery health after around 2–3 years, depending on how the phone is used.

Other signs that your iPhone battery may need replacement include:

• Your iPhone frame is bent
• Your iPhone smells like nail polish remover
• Your iPhone is swelling, or the screen has started lifting

If any of these occur, do not charge your phone. Take it to the nearest repair shop immediately.
